Fitness Camps

"It's much more fun than going to a health club, and I have seen much better results!"

The camps are designed for all fitness levels and abilities, each person is able to work to their personal limits and goals. We have a whole spectrum of abilities from complete beginners, people who are returning to exercise after a long break, mums getting back into shape after having a baby as well as semi-competitive athletes. Please see the timetable for dates, times and location of classes. See below for details of the instructors at the Ray Stevens Fitness Camps.

Ray aims to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere where people can exercise together in the open air and where the training is fun, positive, and social. Simply put, when people enjoy their exercise they improve more quickly and are motivated to make consistent exercise part of their life.

  • Fitness training "camps" are held in association with Kate Staples Adventure Boot Camp for Women.
  • Camps are generally run on a 4 week cycle with daily sessions either pre-work at 6.00 a.m. for 45 minutes or at 9.20 a.m. for an hour.
  • You can choose between 2, 3, 4 or even 5 sessions per week.
  • Training is normally outdoors in the fresh air (remember you can burn more calories outdoors!) but there is an indoor facility when the "great British weather" dictates.
  • Classes are varied and include elementrs of Calisthenics, Pilates, Aerobics, Core-stability, hand-weights and running
  • Training is pitched so that everyone can gain by working at their own level
  • Fitness assessments are held at the beginning and end of each camp so that each person can measure their own progress.

A number of people have used the camp as part of their training preparations ahead of specific events such as marathons, triathlons, adventure races and hiking trips.
