About Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is an eightfold path which is primarily concerned with the physical body and the breath. However, the practice can be far reaching and bring general fitness throughout a person's whole being, touching also on the mind and the emotions.
Hatha yoga attempts to balance mind and body via physical postures or "asanas", purification practices, controlled breathing, and the calming of the mind through relaxation and meditation. Asanas teach poise, balance & strength and are practiced to improve the body's physical health and clear the mind in preparation for meditation in the pursuit of enlightenment.
Pandora Wightman
Pandora Wightman originally trained to be a classical ballet dancer, and discovered the joys of yoga quite accidentally whilst not skiing in Switzerland. She has studied and practised yoga for 25 years, and has taught yoga for 18 years.
Her aim as a teacher is to share her own experience of how yoga practice can be used in the West to enhance and balance our lives.
She has trained with the British Wheel of Yoga and The British School of Yoga and her style is deeply inspired by her own teacher, Kay Fowler and Mr. B.K.S. Iyengar and Vanda Scaravelli.
Each class invites all students of any level to extend and expand the mind, the body, the breath and, most of all, to enjoy and learn the art of yoga by practising all together.
